The Three Hats You Must Wear as an Entrepreneur...

The e-Myth Mastery

You know those books that keep pulling you back and you think "wow - I need to read that again!"?  The book that keeps cropping up these days is The E-Myth Mastery, by Michael Gerber.  For those of you who own your own business or run a business while representing products/services of a larger company, listen up.

Gerber's main message is simply this - "Work ON your business, not IN your business".  He says that there are three hats you must wear as an entrepreneur - your technician's hat, your managerial hat and your entrepreneurial hat.  Many of you who have started your own business have a talent or passion for the products or services you have created or represent - that's your technician's hat, where you are technically strong.

Being in business for yourself means you MUST wear the other two hats - that means, how do you manage your business (what systems must you create and consistently apply), what do you envision for your business and how do you constantly create opportunities to grow your business?

At enSpire, often times we see incredibly talented technicians who just need help wearing the other two hats.  If you want to discover how to work ON your business rather than feel drowned IN your business, give us a call.

And definitely get this book....it's great.  Order on our website at www.enspirecoaching.com/products.htm or click on the book cover above.

Personal Reflection

I went ziplining last weekend with some friends - Wow was it ever a blast!  There is something to be said about the freedom of flying through the air, surrendering to gravity and trusting that the carabiners you have attached to secure ropes on the course are also well attached to you! And throughout the day, I thought to myself, "What am I zipping for? What's on the other side of this line?"  I concluded that it was for freedom and fun, creating a life that is filled with all that fills me and lets me loose.  Here's a shot of my climbing back up the line because I was having too much fun and forgot to hold onto something when I got to the end of line...how's this for a freedom and fun shot?
