Greatness Tip!Welcome to the very first issue of From Ordinary to Great! – a bi-weekly ezine to keep you motivated and focused on living your BIGGEST life! Every two weeks, you will receive ready-to-use tips, techniques or inspirational stories that will change the way you think and help you realize your dreams. In Jim Collins’ book Good to Great, he refers to “good being the enemy of great”. What does that mean exactly? Here’s how I see it. Bad Good Great See how the distance between ‘bad’ and ‘good’ are the same difference as the distance between ‘good’ and ‘great’? What this means is that ‘good’ is actually not good enough? It is only in the middle of the range of where you can choose to live your life. And ‘good being the enemy of great’ means that it is so easy to live at a ‘good’ place because good = your comfort zone so it takes great internal strength, determination and courage to bust beyond your comfort zone to get to great! Spend some time over the next 2 weeks and consider where you are in this range of life. Dare to step, even if it’s just with your baby toe, outside your comfort zone – what do you see there? SpotlightExtreme Self Care - Calling all moms! For those of you who want more time, space and balance and wonder why you are frequently at the bottom of YOUR OWN totem pole, this is the program for you!
This is also a great program to do with friends who have similar goals or you can journey individually. Personal Reflection: What Have I Learned? Two years ago, I was engaged in our yearly day-long, goal-setting session with my life coach and my three girlfriends and I distinctly remember my coach Alisa, asking us what the “theme of the year” was for each of us. I had decided that my theme was “Happiness through drastic change” and I knew, right then and there, that what this really meant was that I had decided to consciously make big and scary changes in my life. Since that day, I have quit a full-time secure job, started my own business, improved relationships with my husband and my two daughters, did my personal best at a recent half marathon and most importantly, felt truer and happier than I ever have before in my life! I say this not to impress you but to impress upon you that change IS possible when you want it bad enough. So what have I learned? I have learned that you have to decide consciously and whole-heartedly to live your biggest life. Happy deciding! | ||
