Greatness Tip!I want to bring the concept of intimacy to the
forefront of your minds this week.
Now, you might be thinking “Intimacy?
I’m already feeling uncomfortable.
That’s a pretty deep topic for a broadcast email!!” Being conscious about intimacy in your life
is not only good, it is essential for your wellness and personal
fulfillment. In the book, “The Dance
of Intimacy”, by Harriet Lerner, she defines intimate relationships as “…one
in which neither party silences, sacrifices, or betrays the self and each
party expresses strength and vulnerability, weakness and competence in a
balanced way.” I’d like to invite you to be hungry for more
intimacy in your relationships. Think
of your partners, children, collegues, friends…Can you speak the truth? Can
you be more honest with what you need in the relationship? Are you betraying any part of yourself in
that relationship? We often sacrifice
the “I” for the “we” in our relationships and it takes courage to dance in
the direction where we always honour ourselves. Dare to be who you are. SpotlightIntroducing Carolyn Hidalgo-Parenting CoachI am absolutely
thrilled to be introducing Carolyn Hidalgo, a dear friend and extremely
personable and excellent parenting coach to you, as our newest professional
affiliated coach of Yvonne Attard

what Carolyn can offer parents: ·
A non-judgmental ear to listen, and understand your concerns
·
A less hectic, happy home environment
·
New ways to approach the challenges of raising your children
·
Organization to give you more quality time
·
Action plans and strategies to help deal with parenting issues
·
A more authentic you to be the parent you want to be
Carolyn comments, “As a mother of 5 year old twin girls, and a 6
year old son, I understand the juggling act of raising children, managing a
home, and/or developing a career, while striving to maintain your emotional, physical
and spiritual self.“ Carolyn is a CA and holds a double degree in Commerce
and Psychology from the Personal Reflection: What Have I Learned?Over the Thanksgiving
weekend, my brother Mike and I threw an incredibly successful SURPRISE 40th
wedding anniversary party for our parents.
(If you recall my last newsletter, the planning of this party
significantly contributed to the “whirlwind” state I was in!) The successful part was definitely the fact
that my parents were both completely surprised and speechless when they
walked into a room of 50 guests, local and out-of town, who were there to
celebrate the occasion with us. I
can’t even find the words to describe the joy and completeness of that day –
I think I am still on a natural high from it.
What have I learned? Just like
the Mastercard commercial, somethings
are simply priceless; the shocked and elated faces of my parents were just
that! Love you mum and dad. |
