Greatness Tip!I seem to be quoting Marianne Williamson a lot
lately. It keeps coming up for my clients this week. Check out this quote by her – it is the
perfect greatness tip for this week. “Our deepest fear is not that we are
inadequate. Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure. It is
our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?’
Actually, who are you not to be? YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. Your playing small
does not serve the world. There is
nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure
around you. We were born to manifest
the glory that is within us. And as we
let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the
same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.” What does living bigger look like for
you? This week, I am calling you forth
to join me in living towards greatness.

story with a couple of my clients recently and it seems timely to share it
more widely with all of you, based on the quote I’ve chosen for this week’s
Greatness Tip. I have started to play
tennis again after a couple of years of inaction in this area. As a teenager and in my twenties, I played
a lot and play, well, quite well! I have developed a huge passion for the game and get
excited at any opportunity I get to play.
What’s interesting for me is that, although I have a good physical
game – good strokes, power and (more or less) good placement of the ball, my
mental game makes or breaks the results of my matches. I notice that when I am winning, I allow
myself to lose a bit so that the winning gap is lessened. I notice that when my opponent is a weaker
player, I hit more softly to them.
Basically, I notice that I “shrink so that others won’t feel insecure
around me…”(see quote in Greatness Tip
section!). Who am I not to live
larger? What have I learned? I have learned that “shrinking” does not
serve me well and I feel like I’ve cheated myself so now, I choose to play
big, on court and off court. So watch out!
I’m going to show up whether you like it or not! |
