I once heard, from an extremely wise coach, that having 5 things/events to look forward to is essential for cultivating a passion for life. When you can clearly think about 5 upcoming events in your life that draw you to that day, your energy level increases and pulls you in that direction. Here are my 5 things:

  1. Celebrating the completion of a very busy and draining consulting assignment with a date with my husband on Feb 2nd
  2. Going to a week long business-building workshop (and a bit of fun) in Orlando in March
  3. Hanging out in Collingwood with my family during March Break
  4. Seeing the final product in bookstores of the book I am co-authoring
  5. Giving and getting the next hug and kiss from my daughters tomorrow morning.

What are your 5 things? Remember, the clearer you are about them, the more aligned your positive energy is to pull you towards it. I’d love to hear from you.

We are extremely pleased and proud to announce the launch of www.yvonneattardcoaching.com... the new website of Yvonne Attard Coaching. It has been a 4 month journey of self expression, creativity and a whole ton of fun developing this website and I am grateful to Paul Curwen of Mango Advertising for his talent and flexibility in web design and Heather Hogan of Heather Hogan Photography for being so great to work with as well as Johanne, Cheryl and my family for playing with us during our photo shoots. Please click the link above to view the website on one condition – THAT you give me feedback – positive or otherwise - so that I can make the changes to ensure that it’s the best coaching website around!

I got a real eye-opener last week. My daughter Kaitlin told me, quite out of the blue, that I was the serious, responsible, organized parent and "daddy" was the fun, crazy, comfy parent. This, in itself, did not surprise me however, what she proceeded to expand upon did. Kaitlin remarked that what this means is that the opposite of what she said is also true! That I was not a lot of fun; it was all about work and I did not find time to just "hang out". It’s not that I didn’t know this about myself; I think I did, but what I didn’t realize was how it was being perceived by my children. I have been reflecting on what this means from her perspective and have decided that I no longer want to be the serious, coach-like, drill-sergeant parent any longer! What have I learned? That the child in me is going to come out and play more often, more spontaneously and that FUN will be part of everyday. Did I mention that I’ve been toboganning and salsa dancing since I made that realization? Can’t wait to tell you how this manifests itself. My kids are already seeing a difference...
